Mind Your Business started as an idea between two friends.

Amanda of La Palma Cart Co. and I have known each other for years, and somewhere between building our own businesses, collaborating on projects and having plenty of conversations about what it actually looks like to create something of your own, we started talking about bringing women together in a different way.

We wanted to create the kind of networking event we would actually want to go to. Something that didn’t feel overly formal or intimidating. Just a room full of women building things, figuring things out, sharing what they do and genuinely getting to know each other.

And eventually, that idea became Mind Your Business.

Our first event

We officially kicked things off in Wellington, Florida, and I don’t think either of us really knew what the night would feel like until we were standing in the middle of it.

What stood out to me most was the connection.

There were so many talented, driven women in one room, and you could feel the energy almost immediately. Business cards being exchanged, introductions were being made, genuine conversations happening all around us, and there were so many hugs.

At some point during the night, it became really clear that everyone who was meant to be there was there.

It didn’t feel like people were just “networking.” It felt like meeting people we somehow already knew.

And you could feel in the room that this was the start of something.

Why Mind Your Business

That feeling is really what we want to continue creating.

Mind Your Business is for business owners, creatives, entrepreneurs and women who are still figuring out exactly what they want to build. You don’t need to have everything perfectly figured out to be part of it.

Sometimes all it takes is getting into the right room.

You might meet someone you collaborate with later. You might find a new client, discover a business you love, get an idea you didn’t have before, or simply have a really great conversation with someone who gets it.

That’s the whole point.

What’s next

Looking back at our first event, it feels a little surreal to see how one idea turned into a room full of women connecting, supporting each other and finding new opportunities in the process.

And more than anything, it felt like only the beginning.

Our next stop is New York City, and we’re excited to see where Mind Your Business goes from here.

We can’t wait for the next chapter. Where women mean business.
